The Clinicians behind Certified Minds

While working as a ward manager, Ruth Jacobs saw first-hand the pressure on mental health services and the need for frontline staff to step in. With waiting lists growing, more workplaces are having to support employees, students, and patients themselves.
She spent her career working across inpatient units, community teams, and educational settings, and has always been drawn to roles where she can train, lead, and empower others. She’s passionate about breaking down stigma, sharing real-world skills, and helping people feel confident in complex situations.
This led to the creation of Certified Minds—a company focused on delivering practical, tailored training to upskill the existing workforce and boost service quality.
A PASSION FOR SKILL SHARING AND EMPOWERING WORKFORCES.
Certified Minds is a clinician-led company dedicated to practical skill-sharing across healthcare, education, and social care.
Founded in response to rising mental health needs and long NHS waiting lists, we’ve supported over 30 NHS paediatric sites to upskill and retain staff working with complex teenage mental health presentations, including eating disorders and self-harm.
We now offer a range of courses—from Mental Health First Aid and safeguarding to training line managers in supporting neurodivergent staff and managing workplace mental health.
Our ethos is simple: hands-on, relevant training that builds real confidence, tailored to your setting and never just a tick-box exercise.
