Mental Health in Education
This course is specifically designed for staff working in educational settings who are tasked with supporting the growing population of young people facing mental health challenges.
With lengthy waiting lists for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and other specialist services, schools are increasingly burdened with addressing the psychological needs of students. The primary objective of this course is to enhance staff members’ understanding and confidence in dealing with mental health issues, equipping them with key skills that can be implemented immediately.
Through increased awareness and practical techniques, participants will be better equipped to provide effective support to young people experiencing mental health difficulties within the educational setting.

- Eating disorders and supporting at meal times
- Maintaining Professional/therapeutic boundaries
- Understanding the function of self-harm and managing risk
- Social media and teenage identity development
- Motivational interviewing skills to aid and respond to difficult conversations
